QuickTime Licensing
If you are including QuickTime for Windows and/or Macintosh on any title, you MUST get a software license authorizing you to distribute QuickTime. Please note that there is now NO cost to license QuickTime. For obtaining licensing agreements or questions, please contact Apple Software Licensing directly:
Phone: (512) 919-2645 or by Fax (512) 919-2120 or AppleLink: SW.LICENSE or Internet: sw.license@applelink.apple.com
If you are including QuickTime for Macintosh with your product, you should also license and include the Apple Multimedia Tuner which fixes some problems. There is also no cost to license the Apple Multimedia Tuner but you still have to list it in Exhibit A of the Software Distribution Agreement.
You will need to fill out both copies of the Software Distribution Agreement, as well as, both of the QuickTime for Macintosh and/or for Windows and send both copies of all to the address specified in the agreement. Upon execution by Apple, one fully executed copy of the completed agreement will be returned to you.
QuickTime Logo
Along with the license for distribution, you MUST include the QuickTime logo on your packaging and on the CD jewel-case or box. Details of the QuickTime logo requirements, can be found on the CD-ROM. The files are saved as Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) and can be opened up or mounted/placed in most programs.
Product Samples
Please send us two copies of each product that uses the QuickTime technology. Why? The QuickTime team keeps a library to ensure new versions of QuickTime stay compatible with previously released titles! If we don't have copies of the titles they is no way for us to test them.
